Remember

Please remember the Evans and Bond families in your prayers today. Pray for comfort, for strength and for peace that only comes from our Heavenly Father above.
Leslie and the twins' service will be at 1pm today at Alameda Church of Christ in Norman.
Cry Out to Jesus by Third Day: "To everyone who's lost someone they love, long before it was their time. You feel like the days you had were not enough, when you said good-bye. And to all of the people with burdens and pains, keeping you back from your life, you believe that there's nothing and there is no one who can make it right. There is hope for the helpless, rest for the weary and love for the broken heart. There is grace and forgiveness, mercy and healing, He'll meet you wherever you are. Cry out to Jesus. Cry out to Jesus."

  1. Will be praying today (in Grand Rapids, Michigan) and I will continue to pray for this family in the weeks and months to come. That God will surround this family with love and support and whatever it is that they need to get them through this terrible storm that has struck their lives.

    Psalm 34:17-19
The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. A righteous man may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all

  4. Although I do not know this family, they have been in my heart and prayers constantly. It's hard to see through our tears, but even when we can't see, God has promised to be there..loving us and strengthening us, giving us what we need to face each day. May this beautiful family hear His tender words being spoken to their hearts. "I am God, and I will be your comfort.

  15. My heart is full of sorrow for your family's profound loss. May you all continue to look to God for comfort, which only He can provide. As so eloquently stated in Natalie Grant's song, Held, God's promise is to hold us when everything fails. Know that my prayers are with all of your family and that somehow, someday, brighter days are ahead.

  17. Our hearts are heavy for you and all who were touched by Leslie's Godly presence. I did not know her personally. She exudes beauty. She has the voice of an angel. Thank you for sharing her love and life with us. Along with Leslie, Mac and Marissa join our babies that we lost to miscarriage. And our God of all comfort promises that we will join them. Mark, Marli, Marcus, and Manning you are special to have been chosen to be a part of Leslie's life. She is blessed by you. I can't imagine the heartache. I wake up often in the night and lift up prayers on your behalf. Even our 4 and 5 year old are praying. May you find the Lord's comfort and His peace. Sharing this journey of love has been a huge reminder of how fragile life is and to Love like Leslie loved. We will continue to lift you up.

  19. (taken from Spurgeon)

Canst thou suppose that He (the Holy Spirit)has undertaken what He cannot or will not perform? If it be His especial work to strengthen thee and comfort thee, dost thou suppose He has forgotten His business or that He will fail in the loving office which He sustains towards thee? Nay, think not so hardly of the tender and blessed Spirit whose name is "Comforter." He delights to give the oil of joy for mourning and the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness. Trust thou in Him, and He will surely comfort thee till the house of mourning is closed forever, and the marriage feast has begun!

    Praying!

Knowing grieving as well but a little different road, mine is one of a 3 yr. old little boy, our Joel with the Lord 1/23/07. He is Faithful! He will be to you too!

  22. I try to hold on to this world with everything I have
But I feel the weight of what it brings, and the hurt that tries to grab
The many trials that seem to never end, His word declares this truth
That we will enter in this rest with wonders anew

But I hold on to this hope and the promise that He brings
That there will be a place with no more suffering

There will be a day with no more tears
No more pain, and no more fears
There will be a day when the burdens of this place
Will be no more, we'll see Jesus face to face
But until that day, we'll hold on to you always

I know the journey seems so long
You feel you?re walking on your own
But there has never been a step
Where you?ve walked out all alone

Troubled soul don?t lose your heart
Cause joy and peace he brings
And the beauty that?s in store
Outweighs the hurt of life?s sting

But I hold on to this hope and the promise that He brings
That there will be a place with no more suffering

There will be a day with no more tears
No more pain, and no more fears
There will be a day when the burdens of this place
Will be no more, we'll see Jesus face to face
But until that day, we'll hold on to you always

I can?t wait until that day where the very one
I?ve lived for always will wipe away the sorrow that I?ve faced
To touch the scars that rescued me from a life of shame and misery
O, this is why, this is why I sing

There will be a day with no more tears
No more pain, and no more fears
There will be a day when the burdens of this place
Will be no more, we'll see Jesus face to face

There will be a day with no more tears
No more pain, and no more fears
There will be a day when the burdens of this place
Will be no more, we'll see Jesus face to face

There will be a day he will wipe away the tears
He will wipe away the tears
He will wipe away the tears
    There will be a day

  23. I was never able to meet Leslie but its very obvious that she was an incredibly special person. It's so hard to trust God when things like this happen. A beautiful woman was taken, as well as her two babies. It's very unfair. The only comfort left is knowing where they are. Embraced in the arms of Jesus. At least there is this. I will pray for this family every night and I guarantee that I will cry every time I do. She has touched a lot of people and even through her death, I'm sure many will come to Christ. Because she loved him so much and it is very obvious.

  26. This story has touched so many...so many that did not know this family, but together in Christ, we gather through hearts to say Goodbye to Leslie, and the twins. We seek comfort from our Father for Mark and the children left behind, not by just one wife and mother, but a second wife and mother. We will lift you and your family Mark, in prayer to our Father, from who all comfort, peace, knowledge and understanding comes. While we may never understand, God the Father, all knowing, always knows best for us, and for those around us. May he comfort your family, may he bless you and your children, may His face shine upon you, may He be gracious unto you, and may He bring you peace.
    Blessings from the Richards' family,

  27. I am so very saddened by your loss. Though I don't know you, I want you to know that I've been praying for you and will continue to do so. I heard about your story from a friend who knows you and I've shared your story with others so that they too can pray for your peace and comfort in this difficult time. As an OB nurse, I can tell you that we hope to never lose a baby or a mother, but when it happens, we are all affected by the loss. May God give you peace, comfort, and strength.

  30. I worked with Leslie for a year in LifeTools for Kids at Crossings. She had an amazing love for the children and was always so positive. Her smile and her awesome attitude were always an inspiration to me. She would always stay late and write cute and encouraging postcards to the kids. I remember how excited I was to see her on the praise team and singing solos at Crossings. Her voice was so beautiful, and she exuded a contagious joy. She has left a legacy of love that will never be forgotten by those who knew her. “Love never fails.” 1 Corinthians 13:8. May the Lord carry her family through this time of excruciating pain, and may the love and prayers of people from near and far constantly surround them, comfort them, and sustain them until they are reunited someday in Heaven with Leslie, Mac, and Marisa. My prayers are with all of you.

  32. I did not know Leslie but as a mother of twins myself, you soon find yourself a member of a very special club. I know in my heart Leslie knew what a gift from GOD she had, even before she met her babies in the kingdom of Heaven. She and her family are always in my thoughts and prayers. No words that I could possibly write could express how deeply this family weighs on my heart. The rewards waiting for us in heaven are great!

  33. God has been the difference in my own life during times of loneliness, heartbreak, and pain. I know too well what it means of not getting encouraged by others and the hurt that comes from that. I've found that only God always offer encouragement and hope, much better than any human can offer. I can only imagine how it feels to be widowed. I have the taste of having a soul tie broken- I've gotten dumped in the past and it's hurt me so much in the past. The Bible teaches that a sexual relationship (whether marital or premarital) results in the man and woman becoming one (a soul tie). I believe that even emotional involvement (without having sex) also creates soul ties, but to a lesser degree than a sexual soul tie. Rejection and abandonment are all painful things. King Solomon said that everything in this world is vanity, everything is meaningless- a chasing after the wind. Eventually whatever we gain in this world (relationships, success, wealth), we lose them all at some point. There is something you can never lose though- God. God surpasses everything in our lives. Our thirsting for things in this world (especially human relationships) is evidence that we need something greater than those things to satisfy us because everything except God will end up failing you in some way. God has promised us that He will never leave us nor forsake us. God can't die on us and leave us in a state of loneliness. God won't cheat on us, dump us and go off with someone else. Whenever you feel lonely or feel that you're missing something in your life- realize that God wants to fill that void in your life. So many times I've been ignorant about the Bible. We're trained from our birth to live by our 5 senses- thus we look to perceive God with those senses. Most of the time, we can't perceive God with our 5 senses as He is a spiritual being. God has wanted me to develop my spiritual senses and rely on His word (the Bible) to experience Him. I've learned to always see God's word as alive, powerful, and relevant for each day. When I've failed to see that in the past, it's robbed me so much joy and peace. I've learned to look at the Bible as a powerful and active gateway/portal to God. We can try to occupy our minds with so many different things in this world to try and fill the void in our lives or suppress the pain, but all of those things will keep us still hungry and thirsty. God has promised us that if we reach out to Him, He will give us rest, quench our thirst, and satisfy our hunger. If you haven't done that, I hope you will give God a chance. I further hope that God will use you to go and reach others with His word, just like He has used me to reach out to you. Many people in this world are hurting just like you. Many are just looking for a simple act of kindness or a word of encouragement (words are powerful- they can heal and motivate or when used in an evil manner destroy others) which they don't receive from others. Ultimately, many even end their own lives because they feel hopeless and want to end their pain of torment- all because they've failed to see God was nearby all along and they failed to perceive Him with their spiritual senses. God loves you more than any human in this world! He wants to be your companion today and take care of you and your family's needs. I hope you see and explore His love for you today through the Bible- the Bible is the secret source for unraveling peace and joy for you when you can't find them in this world. I can't give you physical copy of the Bible right now, but you can freely access it online at (www.biblegateway.com). May God bless you, heal you and strengthen you and your family. Continue to write and help others for His glory. Claim God's promises to you from His word today. Humans will likely fail to encourage you when you really need it, however, God won't fail. All you need to do is turn to His word. It is available 24/7 whenever you need it- to experience God.
